Light that earns its place
A pendant hangs closer to eye level than almost anything else in a room, which is exactly why it has to be right. Turned wood, warm glass, a shape worth looking up at — built for the space above a table or an island, not just to fill it.
Solid wood
Cut, not moulded
Anyone can shape plastic into a ridge. Turning it from a single block of wood is slower, and it shows — every groove catches light a little differently depending on where you stand. It's the kind of detail you only notice once, and then can't stop noticing.
Small wall, big difference
The detail that finishes a room
A hallway or a bare stretch of bedroom wall rarely gets a second thought — until a single fitting gives it one. Black iron and warm brass, sized to punctuate rather than dominate, for the corners a ceiling light never quite reaches.
Stone
Stone was never meant to glow.
Light it from behind and every vein in the marble becomes visible.
No two blocks are alike, so no two fittings are either.
Glass
Glass decides whether light is soft or sharp.
Opal spreads it, amber warms it, fluting throws it out in rays.

Metal is the part that holds everything up.

OUR STORY
Atelier Selden began with one frustration: lighting is either forgettable or absurdly expensive. So we curate a small collection instead of a catalogue — marble, travertine, brass, frosted glass — each piece chosen for the way it holds light in a real room.
